Hot Chocolate on a Stick!

Hot Cocoa on a Stick With Homemade Marshmallows

Nothing warms you up on a cold winter day like a steamy mug of hot cocoa, and there’s no cuter way to give someone that luxury than with hot cocoa on a stick. These are the perfect afternoon activity when you feel like whipping up a batch of something yummy for yourself and all of your friends. Don’t shy away from making your own marshmallows — all you need is a good candy thermometer and you’re ready to go. I love this digital candy thermometer because it beeps when it reaches the temperature I’ve set. That way no matter how distracted I might get, I know it’s time to take it off the heat! So roll up your sleeves and get ready for the yummiest cold weather ever — hot cocoa on a stick! The best part of making your own cocoa and homemade marshmallows is that you can personalize them with any flavors you like. Try adding a couple of drops of mint extract, a dollop of creamy peanut butter, or a teaspoon of …

candy land party theme for kids birthdays, school parties and more

Candy Land Party Ideas

I am loving this adorable Candy Land Party on Parents.com. Lots of great decorating ideas on a budget! It’s so colorful, vibrant and, most importantly, FUN! Candy Land Party Trail Use 12×12 construction paper to re-create the classic Sugar Trail from Candy Land! What you use to hold it in place depends on your floor type. For carpet, try packing tape. For delicate flooring, consider something gentle like Scotch tape. Candy Land Lollipop Balloons These giant “lollipops” are made from empty wrapping paper tubes, balloons and cellophane! Use white acrylic paint on the wrapping paper tube. For something a bit more sturdy, you could use spray painted PVC pipe. Candy Land Wall Decor Colored plates and cellophane to make candy for the walls. Choose vibrant colored plates, wrap, and seal up the ends with a twist tie or rubber band! Attach them to the walls with a little Scotch tape. You can make a number of these using inexpensive colored plates from the dollar store. Candy Land Party Favors Party-goers can take home these Candy Land …

dinosaur party cake for boys birthday chocolate

Dinosaur Party

One Charming Party has just released a Dinosaur Party! It is part of their new line of DIY party plans. In this party, young paleontologists have an amazing adventure with bone digging, a prehistoric treasure hunt and a feast that satisfies their hungry appetites. Dinosaur Party Cake Chocolate frosting and the green cake plate, accented by rock-shaped candy make a simple yet perfect dinosaur party cake. Dinosaur Party Invitations The birthday party invitations were delivered in recycled envelopes for an authentic feel. The dinosaur postage stamps were the perfect touch! Looking to opt for paperless invitations? Check out this dinosaur invitation available from Sendomatic! Dinosaur Party Games Party guests were invited to play with dinosaur toys, put together T-Rex puzzles and read dinosaur books. Guests had the chance to decorate their own cupcakes with more of the “dirt” colored icing, rock “candy” and other prehistoric-inspired toppings. Food was kept nutritious and kid-friendly. The theme was pulled into the meal with green plates and brown cupcake wrappers to hold potato chips. The kids used green-handled paintbrushes to unearth bones buried in …

Gumball Bouquet Flower Tutorial, creative, fun, colorful gift idea

Gumball Flower Bouquet Tutorial

My son is celebrating his summer birthday at school this week and I had to make 24 of these… Uh-huh…cute right? I’ve been waiting for a reason to make these. I’m trying to keep my projects down to ones I’m going to actually use. I’m getting too sidetracked and poorly managing my party time a.k.a. staying up way too late. I can’t take any credit for coming up with them, this fabulousness is all from Ruffled. I didn’t have the clear rubber bands, but scads of ribbon, so that’s what I tied mine with, and matched everything. ‘Cuz I’m insane like that. Not Just A Mommy! Supplies for Gumball Flower Bouquet 1 plastic balloon stick (I ordered mine from Oriental Trading) 1 clear elastic band or ribbon to match 7 small gumballs 1 large gumball 1 cellophane cut into circle shape (check the gift wrap section of your dollar store for cellophane gift wrap) For the life of me, I couldn’t keep the smaller gumballs from rolling around when I tried to balance them around the …

Dr. Seuss Birthday Party Ideas, Planning, Decorations

Dr Seuss Birthday Party

I absolutely loved planning and hosting this Dr Seuss Birthday Party!  There were so many fun themes and characters that the choices were endless.  After being inspired by Dr Seuss Baby Showers’ at Kara’s Party Ideas and Stem Parties I came up with this fabulous party! Fun Dr. Seuss Birthday Party Ideas I painted and cut out over 20 truffula trees taller than me!  I also painted Thing 1 and Thing 2 charicatures to go over photographs of the Birthday Boys. Green Eggs and Ham were, of course, a must have on the buffet table! We had the children play ‘Pin the heart on the Grinch’ as we all know – his heart is two sizes too small! The party favour table – it wouldn’t be a Dr Seuss party if the Cat in the Hat weren’t in attendance! Thing 1 ready to have his cake and eat it too!  His twin brother, Thing 2, never remained very presentable as he was wont to pull off his hair! This party was a BLAST and I hope the photos and ideas have …

Candy Themed Kids Party Invitations Sweetly invite your guests by either making your own invitations or purchase some found online.  One idea if you make your own invitations is to purchase large lollipops and attaching tags with all the details of the event. Or you can simplify your event planning process by selecting one of the gorgeous kids party invitations available from Sendomatic!
