Tips for Hosting the Best Holiday Party
The holidays are nearly here! If you are like us, we are just itching to get together with family and friends. Holidays are a wonderful time to reconnect with others and make new memories. But some can be overwhelmed by the task and caught up thinking that they need to be the next Martha Stewart. Don’t fret! We are here to help. Here are some simple elements and tips to help ensure your holiday party is one that will be remembered:
Start planning
Plan as early as you can. Send party invitations about 1 month in advance. A good plan helps you stay on track and helps you put together amazing elements for your party. Having a plan on food, a guest list and décor will help you know how much of an item you will need giving you the ability to do some advance shopping rather than waiting till the last minute. You can check things off and ensure that you are not forgetting anything. And if someone asks if they can help, you can easily see where it is you could use some support. Write it all down!
Have a Signature Holiday Drink
A special cocktail is a great way to make the holiday night even more unforgettable. Cocktails have the ability to bring an extra touch of fancy and it’s even more fun to have. Inspired and Fun Décor
Have a fun theme when it comes to your holiday décor. You can pick a classic theme of reindeers and Santa, a classic subdued theme of holiday plaid elements, or something fun like a Pajamas and Pancake theme holiday party. Have table décor inspired by your theme and provide areas where a photo opportunity will provide Instagram-worthy images.
Splurge on help or ask for help
If you have the ability to hire some extra help, splurging on this may be a great idea. Having some extra hands to help you set up the party, help make drinks or clean up, can help take some stress off of you. Being a host to your party is a lot of work and having someone to pick up some tasks can help you focus on having fun as well. If you can’t hire help, enlist friends and family to take on different parts of the party so that you don’t feel overwhelmed as well.
Have Decorative Take Out Boxes
Everyone loves leftovers! Especially holiday leftovers. Provide cute take-out disposable boxes for your guests to make it easier for them to take food home. You don’t have to worry about getting your Tupperware back and you also don’t have to worry about keeping too much food at home overcrowding your fridge. You can enlist someone to pre-pack leftovers and label them, making it easier for guests to grab and go at the end of the night. Here are some cute holiday leftover containers: Christmas containers.
Holiday Music & Lighting
Set up some holiday music in the background and always think of lighting! These elements can sometimes be forgotten but they help set the party mood. Add temporary lighting in your home with fun colored floodlights or add an element of magic with twinkling lights. Your guests will feel the holiday party spirit even quicker! Remember to have fun and keep the fun spirits up. There will be some hiccups along the way but if can brush them off and improvise while still keeping the fun attitude, your guests will follow suit. Have a wonderful holiday this season!
